Construction on 6-lane passenger screening checkpoints begins

Construction to expand security lanes begins March 21 and should be completed prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.

MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ Construction workย  on a six lane consolidated passenger screening checkpoint will begin March 21 at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.ย  The project, expected to be finished prior to Thanksgiving travel, will renovate the existing terminal atrium area and will shift security screening to allow for “a more efficient flow of passengers.”

The airport will be working closely with construction manager, Harvey Construction, so there is minimal effect on the traveling public and appropriate communications are disseminated.ย  Construction updates will be posted on the airportโ€™s website, flymanchester.com, as well as viaย  social media venues.

โ€œWe are very excited to embark on a project which will not only enhance the layout of our existing facility, but will also improve passenger flows and queuing in the security checkpoint area.ย  Ultimately, it will lead to a better customer experience and leave a lasting, positive impression on travelers,โ€ said Airport Director Mark Brewer.

Due to possible delays during construction, passengers are urged to be in the terminal building two hours prior to scheduled departure time. Temporary signs in will be in place to direct passengers to the appropriate passenger screening area and other facilities.ย  Additional airport personnel will be on hand throughout the project to answer any questions and direct passengers as necessary.
