BEDFORD, NH โ€“ State police are at the scene of a fiery crash Tuesday morning at the Bedford Tolls.

At this time the Bedford Toll booth Northbound is closed and traffic is being rerouted off Exit 13.

Gov. Kelly Ayotte and her security detail arrived at the scene shortly before noon and assisted in getting the injured driver out of the car, described as an electric vehicle with Massachusetts license plates.

NH State Police Col. Mark B. Hall confirmed that a State Trooper assigned to Ayotteโ€™s security detail helped pull a driver from a burning vehicle after it struck the Bedford Toll Plaza just before noon. Ayotte and other witnesses at the scene also provided assistance. The driver involved in the crash suffered serious injuries and the investigation remains active, Hall said.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution, and to seek alternative routes when possible.

We’ll bring you more details as they become available.
