Pledges accessible, fair, and community-focused leadership.
MANCHESTER, NH – Dana Dexter has been elected Alderman for Manchester’s Ward 3, earning nearly 55 percent of the vote. A longtime resident and public safety professional, Dexter thanked voters for their confidence and pledged to lead with fairness, accessibility, and a focus on results.
“I am deeply grateful to the residents of Ward 3 for their confidence and support,” said Dexter. “This campaign was about keeping Manchester a city that works for everyone. As Alderman, I will listen, be accessible, and focus on what matters most: keeping neighborhoods safe, ensuring reliable city services, improving infrastructure, and supporting public schools that help students succeed. I look forward to working with the mayor, my colleagues, and the community to keep Manchester moving forward.”
Dexter also extended appreciation to his opponent, Avery Cyr, for running a spirited campaign and for his commitment to the community.
“I appreciate anyone willing to step forward and serve,” Dexter said. “Elections are about ideas, and I thank Avery Cyr for contributing to that dialogue in Ward 3.”
He further recognized outgoing Alderman Pat Long, who has served Ward 3 for 16 years, for his service to the ward and to the city.

“Alderman Long has served this community with commitment and care,” Dexter said. “I’m thankful for his leadership and eager to continue the work of strengthening Ward 3 through practical, community-driven solutions.”
Throughout his campaign, Dexter emphasized public safety, fiscal responsibility, infrastructure improvement, public education, and downtown vibrancy as the cornerstones of progress. He said those same priorities will guide his approach at City Hall.
“My responsibility now is to serve everyone who lives, works, and invests in Ward 3,” Dexter said. “That means being present, listening carefully, and acting with fairness and respect. Together, we can build on the city’s progress and make sure it benefits the entire community.”
