MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Derryfield School continued its hot start, climbing to 3-0 with a 45-23 win over Epping in their brand-new gymnasium on Friday evening.
The visitors managed just three field goals during the first half as the Cougars built a 24-13 lead at the half they would not relinquish.
“We were trying to get out early and try and get points off turnovers, we just executed really well,” said Derryfield Head Coach Natalie Wilson.
That halftime lead grew to 23 points by the end of third quarter as Epping could not manage a single field goal until the fourth quarter.
Derryfield’s Emmy Plage led all scorers with 21 points, the only player on either team in double digits with Oakley Lustenberger leading Epping with nine points. Epping’s Haley Pelletier would have finished in double digits if she hit all her free throws, but finished just 4-for-15 from the stripe, finishing with eight points on the night. All other players on both teams combined for 18 free throws on the evening.
