MANCHESTER, N.H.ย  โ€“ The Derryfield School continued its hot start, climbing to 3-0 with a 45-23 win over Epping in their brand-new gymnasium on Friday evening.

The visitors managed just three field goals during the first half as the Cougars built a 24-13 lead at the half they would not relinquish.

โ€œWe were trying to get out early and try and get points off turnovers, we just executed really well,โ€ said Derryfield Head Coach Natalie Wilson.

That halftime lead grew to 23 points by the end of third quarter as Epping could not manage a single field goal until the fourth quarter.

Derryfieldโ€™s Emmy Plage led all scorers with 21 points, the only player on either team in double digits with Oakley Lustenberger leading Epping with nine points. Eppingโ€™s Haley Pelletier would have finished in double digits if she hit all her free throws, but finished just 4-for-15 from the stripe, finishing with eight points on the night. All other players on both teams combined for 18 free throws on the evening.

Up next for the Cougars is a trip to Farmington on Wednesday, Dec. 18 (7 p.m.)
