Echoes and Shifts 2025
Exhibition at Positive Street Art featuring Haudenosaunee and Mashpee Wampanoag Art.
Dedication and investment toward holding on to our most precious cultures and histories is a foundational impetus Positive Street Art exercises throughout its exhibitions and programming. The team with their co-curators, Margaret Jacobs and Yasamin Safarzadeh, are proud to welcome audiences to this year’s Echoes and Shifts installation and programming.
The work on view will encompass a depth of intent and breadth of execution. This exercise of creating narratives and engaging viewers utilizing artwork which contains multitudes and intersections and affords audiences waystations and throughlines to form a more cohesive understanding of East Coast tribes and sovereign nations.
The range of work is guaranteed to foster epiphanies pertaining to the duality of an American identity and will shatter ideals of institutionalized ethnocentrism. Art exhibited in Echoes and Shifts has been generously loaned from culture keepers out of Akwesasne and Mashpee Wampanoag;

Programming for this show will be three fold:
- 1-2 p.m. Weaving Workshop with Carrie Hill (VIP tour and viewing)
- 2-3:30 p.m. Film Screening w/ Q&A (VIP tour and viewing)
- 3:45-5:30 p.m. Exhibition Reception w/ Panel Discussion Featuring Carrie Hill, Margaret Jacobs, Yasamin Safarzadeh moderated by Seana McDuffie
No early entry will be permitted in order to ensure artists and facilitators rest appropriately.
