MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ย Elliot Intensive Care Unit physicians, nurses and staff celebrated major milestones on April 19, 2018, in reducingย healthcare-associated infections defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Those milestones include:

  • 2 years without a central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI),
  • 2 years without a ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), and
  • 6 months without a catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI).

โ€œStanding alone these are each amazing accomplishments, but together they really paint the picture of the commitment that the Elliot ICU team has made to continuously strive toward excellence,โ€ said Hannah Sharp, MS, RN-BC, CNL, Elliot Patient Safety Officer.

โ€œWe are so proud to have reached these milestones and expect the great work on behalf of patients to continue so that we make every experience a positive one,โ€ Sharp added.
