MANCHESTER, NH โThe Empty Bowls benefit for New Horizons of New Hampshire held on October 18 raised more than $8,000 for the soup kitchen, food pantry, Angie’s Shelter for Women and homeless shelter. Now in its 13th year, more than 400 people attended the annual October event at Brookside Congregational Church.
Sponsored by the NH Potters Guild, Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger. NH Potters Guild members make and donate ceramic soup bowls. For $20 each, guests chose a handmade bowl to bring home, after they sample soups donated by 16 local restaurants and served by the women’s lacrosse team from Southern NH University.

This yearโs participating restaurants include: Airport Diner, Angelaโs Pasta & Cheese Shop, Bertucciโs, Billyโs Sports Bar & Grill, Cactus Jack’s Southwest Grill, Fratelloโs, Ignite Bar & Grille/Hooked Seafood, Jeromeโs Deli, Manchester School of Technology, Millyโs Tavern, New Englandโs Tap House Grille, Piccola Italia Ristorante, Puritan Back Room, Red Arrow Diner, Southern NH University Culinary Arts, Taj India and The Dugout.
