MANCHESTER, NH โ Families in Transition has added two new hires to its leadership team to support the organization’s mission to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness.
Daniel Kern has been hired to serve as Chief Financial Officer and Kerry Pellerin, as Chief Human Resources officer.
โDan and Kerry bring a wealth of experience and expertise from their respective fields, which will help us find new and efficient ways to provide critical services to those who need us,โ says Maria Devlin, President & CEO of Families in Transition. โWorking in the nonprofit sector means knowing how to stretch limited resources for maximum positive impact and this duo has stepped in seamlessly to boost the goal of helping us help others.โ

Kern has worked most of his career in the nonprofit and government sectors. He started at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation liquidating failed banks and then went on to work for small cooperative banks and credit unions. He also ran a small regional land trust where he protected almost 10,000 acres of forest and farmland, some not far from downtown Manchesterโs Families in Transition main office. He holds a masterโs degree in money and finance from Northeastern University, a bachelorโs degree in political science, and a minor in economics from Plymouth State College. He and his family live in Strafford on a farm property he helped conserve.
โMy career focus has always been an effort to pay it forward and I am deeply honored to join this accomplished and well-respected agency,โ says Kern. โWorking in finance, my goal is to enhance relationships with the business community to improve funding opportunities that will assist in our efforts to serve others.โ
