MANCHESTER, NH – Jarod Leroux, 36, wanted by U.S Marshals as a fugitive from justice, was arrested by the Manchester Police Department on May 16 in the area of Pine and High streets in Manchester, after he was stopped by police in connection with another ongoing investigation.
Leroux originally provided a false name, but his true identity was quickly realized and he was arrested. Leroux was wanted on an outstanding Belknap County arrest warrant for failing to appear on a charge of sales of methamphetamines. Leroux was taken into custody without any further incident and transported to the Manchester Police Department, where he was booked on the outstanding Belknap County arrest warrant. Leroux is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail, pending his return to Belknap County.
Leroux was featured as last week’s “Fugitive of the Week,” which is broadcast on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Manchester Ink Link, and prominently shared across social media, which casts a wider net in locating fugitives. The “Fugitive of the Week” feature continues to be a successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007.
Since its inception in 2002, the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force has made more than 5,869 arrests, ranging in the capture of suspects wanted for murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 7 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
