MANCHESTER, NH – A Nashua man wanted by U.S. Marshals in connection with a murder case was arrested in Manchester late Monday night.
New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Nashua Police Chief Andrew Lavoie announce that Stephan Peno, 20, was arrested and charged May 4 with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery and falsifying physical evidence for his alleged involvement in events leading to the March 12, 2015 death of Benjamin Marcum in Nashua.
Jonathan Goff was previously arrested on March 14, 2015, and charged with second-degree murder for causing Marcum’s death by stabbing. He is being held without bail as the investigation continues.
Peno’s arraignment was set for May 5, 2015, at the 9th Circuit Court – District Division Court in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Police alleged Goff and Peno robbed Marcum before he was fatally stabbed by Goff on a walking path near Marcum’s residence in downtown Nashua. According to Nashua Patch, Peno has had previous dealings with police, including assault and robbery charges in 2014.
On April 15 U.S. Marshals – New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force joined the manhunt for Peno, who was considered a fugitive from justice by Nashua Police Department.
On April 14, NH Attorney General Joseph Foster issued a warrant for Peno’s arrest in connection with the stabbing death of Marcum.
