MANCHESTER, NH โ On March 10th, the NH House, in a surprise floor amendment, stripped funding for the Capitol Corridor commuter rail project from the 2016 Transportation Bill.
How our state representatives voted was mapped last week. The bill is now in the Senate Transportation Committee, which may vote to re-amend the bill to restore rail funding.
A new map displays the members of the NH Senate Transportation Committee, their districts, and their ratings from the New Hampshire Business & Industry Association (BIA) and from Americans for Prosperity (AFP), as reported byย Project Vote Smart.
The BIA includes inย their 2016 priorities, “Advocate for investment in multi-modal transportation systems as well as New Hampshireโs road and bridge network.” However, BIA has not publicly endorsed the Capitol Corridor project. Americans for Prosperity have lobbied against the Capitol Corridor project in the past.
