PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER – POLICE (Announcement Number R-05-19)

Grade 20

Salary Range: $53,362.64 – $76,082.39 โ€“ plus comprehensive benefits package

THE JOB: Serves as a link and lead spokesperson between a City department and the community, media, and other government entities. Focus is on the conveyance of public information, and the successful representation of the Cityโ€™s interests via social media and traditional news outlets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related; and Considerable experience in public speaking, and public relations, media relations, broadcast, or communications; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

REQUIRED SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) preferred; Valid Driverโ€™s License; Occasional weekend and after normal business hours.
