PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER – POLICE (Announcement Number R-05-19)

Salary Range: $53,362.64 – $76,082.39 – plus comprehensive benefits package
THE JOB: Serves as a link and lead spokesperson between a City department and the community, media, and other government entities. Focus is on the conveyance of public information, and the successful representation of the City’s interests via social media and traditional news outlets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related; and Considerable experience in public speaking, and public relations, media relations, broadcast, or communications; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
REQUIRED SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) preferred; Valid Driver’s License; Occasional weekend and after normal business hours.
