Ghouls just wanna have fun: Elm Street turns spooky for Downtown Trick-or-Treat

MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ย The relatively new tradition of turning downtown into a hub for hobnobbing goblins and ghastly ghouls filling their buckets with treats once again brought a huge crowd of costumed kids – and adults – out Friday for the annual free holiday candy-palooza.

Participating downtown businesses answered the candy call between 3-6 p.m. on Oct. 24, setting up tables and making sure kids got their fill.

These guys were dressed to impress – tequila-lovers.

And this year the fun was extended even longer as a section of Hanover Street was closed to automobile traffic and transformed into a Fall Street Festival, with vendors and more giveaways.

The family that trick-or-treats together – well, they get the most candy!

While it was not a costume competition, this little lunch lady won our heart.

Charlie’s Angels have nothing on these Hanover Street lovelies.

If you’re looking for someplace to haunt on Oct. 31, don’t miss the Nightmare on (Real) Elm Street at Diz’s Cafe, 4-9 p.m.. More info here.
