GOFFSTOWN, N.H. โ€“ Goffstown Department of Public Works Director Meghan Theriault will be leaving her position on Oct. 30, marking the end of over 15 years she has spent working for the town.

On Sept. 23, the Goffstown Select Board accepted a letter of resignation from Theriault after learning she has accepted a position as the Department of Public Works Director for the town of Gilford, N.H.

Theriault worked as private consultant on projects in Goffstown prior to coming on board as the townโ€™s first ever Town Engineer in 2004. She remained at that post before becoming Department of Public Works Director in 2017.

A resident of Meredith, Meghanโ€™s husband Chris is the Department of Public Works Director for the town of Moultonborough. Although she was not seeking to leave Goffstown, when the position arose, it served as an opportunity to work significantly closer to home and family.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve had a wonderful career (in Goffstown),โ€ said Theriault. โ€œBeing in one community has been awesome.โ€

Theriault is looking forward to beginning her position in Gilford on Nov. 4, which she says has many similar to Goffstown in many ways on a smaller scale, but also has the added impact of being adjacent to Lake Winnipesaukee.

โ€œIf something pops up doing what I love, then Iโ€™ll try for it,โ€ she said. โ€œIt happened and hopefully this is what was meant for me. I always look forward to a good challenge.โ€
