MANCHESTER, NH — Granite State Generosity welcomeS the start of ski and snowboard season with the return of the 9th Annual Bob Gilman Fun Run Ski & Snowboard Race. This year’s event will take place at Manchester’s winter playground, McIntyre Ski Area, on Sunday, January 25th.
A beloved winter tradition, the Fun Run brings together racers and spectators of all abilities and ages—ranging from ages 2 to 89! Come celebrate community, friendly competition, and charitable impact.
Each participant will take up to two timed runs, with over a dozen age categories competing for prizes. McIntyre Ski Area will remain open to the public throughout the event. Not a skier or snowboarder? Come spectate and check out raffles and silent auction items!

Honoring Bob Gilman’s Legacy
The event is held each year in honor of Bob Gilman, whose passion for skiing and dedication to Manchester’s youth left an enduring impact. In the late 1980s, Manchester’s high school ski programs were at risk of being eliminated due to budget cuts. Bob stepped forward, volunteering his time and advocacy to ensure ski racing remained a high school sport. He continued championing the program until his untimely passing in 1995 after his second battle with cancer at the age of 47.
His love for skiing—and his deep pride in McIntyre Ski Area—live on through this annual event, which celebrates his contributions and continues to support NH families in his spirit.
