Hooksett man turns self in on warrant following ‘hijab grab’ incident at restaurant

MANCHESTER, NHย โ€”ย  A Hooksett resident turned himself in at police headquarters on July 10 at 10:05 a.m. on a warrant stemming from a June 22 incident involving simple assault.

ย Robert Carrigg, 45, of Hooksett, allegedly pulled a womanโ€™s hijab while the two of them were at The Farm Bar & Grill in Manchester. The woman reported the assault and anย arrest warrant for simple assault was issuedย on July 9.

According to information provided to police by the victim, 25, she was seated at a table with her co-workers at approximatelyย 4:45 p.m. when a man walked past her and pulled on her hijab. The man did not say anything to her prior to the incident, but pulled on the hijab long enough to cause discomfort to her chin and head.

The man released the hijab and walked toward the bar, but left the area when confronted by the woman’s co-workers.ย 

Carriggย was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on August 16, 2018.
