
MANCHESTER, NH – If you’ve ever slowed down to watch construction equipment in action, you won’t want to miss this big crane action at CMC on Notre Dame Avenue next week. This operation will feature one of the tallest cranes in the region, lifting oversized equipment and offering a rare, up-close look at some seriously impressive machinery.
WHAT:
A section of Notre Dame Avenue will be temporarily closed to accommodate the placement and operation of one of the tallest cranes in New England, as part of ongoing construction for CMC’s Central Energy Plant.

WHEN:
Monday, April 13 through Thursday, April 16, 2026
(Closure in effect 24 hours per day during this period)
WHERE:
Notre Dame Avenue (between Putnam Street and Wayne Street)
WHY:
The crane will be used to safely remove a large trailer from the C-Level parking lot, supporting continued progress on the Central Energy Plant project (anticipated completion: Q1 2027).

This operation will feature one of the tallest cranes in the region, offering a rare opportunity for the public and media to observe a major construction milestone
SAFETY INFORMATION:
- On Tuesday, the crane will rotate approximately 90 degrees to transfer equipment to a trailer positioned on Notre Dame Avenue.
- Only the crane arm will extend over the building.
- No equipment will be lifted over the building itself.
TRAFFIC & PARKING IMPACTS:
- Notre Dame Avenue (Putnam to Wayne) will be fully closed to all traffic.
- On-street parking and parking in the Notre Dame surface lot will not be permitted during the closure.
