GOFFSTOWN, NH – The second annual NH Bar Association Pro Bono Referral Program Benefit Hockey Game took place June 15 at Saint Anselm College’s Sullivan Arena in Goffstown.
Two teams of New Hampshire lawyers and judges – team Liberty in green jerseys and team Justice in white – went head-to-head to raise money for Pro Bono, a program of the NH Bar Association that screens calls from the public and matches cases with attorneys who are willing to provide free legal services.
After three 18-minute periods, team Justice took home the victory, with a final score of 10-6. Players represented at least three generations of New Hampshire law practitioners and more than two dozen law firms and state agencies.
After a successful event last year, organizers Rory Parnell of Parnell Michels & McKay in Londonderry again teamed up with Neil Nicholson of McCandless & Nicholson of Concord for a repeat, this year avoiding a scheduling conflict with the Patriots play-off game. Players and spectators gathered at the pub at Saint Anselm’s for an after-party.
Sponsors of the game were Parnell, Michels & McKay; McCandless & Nicholson; Connelly Reporting and Videoconferencing; Upton & Hatfield; Gallagher, Callahan and Gartrell; Devine Millimet; Orr and Reno; and Sulloway and Hollis.
