Late goals doom Monarchs in Glens Falls

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. โ€“ The Manchester Monarchs suffered their first loss of the 2019 calendar year on Tuesday, falling 3-2 to the Adirondack Thunder.

After a scoreless first period, Manchester struck first with a deflected shot in by Daniil Miromanov 6:40 into the second period. The Thunder responded just under two minutes later with a goal from James Henry.

Manchester took the lead back halfway through the third thanks to a slapshot from the loaned Drake Rymsha, but Adirondack grabbed goals from Kevin Lough and Blake Thompson.

Loughโ€™s game-tying goal, aย  spinning backhand that nudged between the legs of Monarchs goaltender Charles Williams, was the top play of the day on ESPNโ€™s Sportscenter program.

The Monarchs return to action Friday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m., when they take on the Reading Royals at SNHU Arena for CHaD Night.
