
MANCHESTER, NH โ Police arrested Matthew Foley, 26, of Manchester on January 23ย after he crashed his car into a pole just before 2 a.m.ย
Officer Max Rahill responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of 451 River Road. Officer Rahill arrived on scene and spoke with the homeowners who heard the crash in front of their residence. The crash involved a 2007 Mazda 3, which struck a telephone pole, shrubs, a granite bench and a stone wall.
Sergeant Marr blocked the intersection of River Road and Thayer Street due to the fact a telephone pole was split in half and a danger to oncoming vehicles. Sergeant Marr observed a lone male, later identified as Foley, with a bloodied face on River Road at Thayer Street, so he called out to him. Foleyย fled to the rear of 35 Thayer Street when Sergeant approached himย but wasย located a short time later by Officer Rahill andย Sergeant Marr.
Foley was arrested by policeย as he stood near the rear fence of the River Road residence.ย He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with operating under the influence of liquor; resisting arrest/detention; conduct after an accident; reckless operation.
Foley allegedly lost control of his vehicle as he droveย north on River Road. He struck a pole in front of 415 River Road, continued through the yard of 427 River Road where he damaged a granite bench and several shrubs. His vehicle came to rest in front of 451 River Road when he struck a stone wall.ย
