
MANCHESTER, NH โ Trevor Rowell Lang, 23, of Goffe St., Manchester, wasย arrested May 17, charged with driving under the influence of liquor (second offense) and resisting arrest,ย after police say he ran two stop signs and then tried to get away on foot whenย police attempted to stop his car on the city’sย West Side.
Officer James Pittman was on patrol in the area of Putnam and Dubuque streets just after midnight when he observed a 2008 Subaru Legacy fail to stop for a posted stop sign. Officer Pittman allegesย the Subaru wasย traveling approximately 40-45 miles per hour as it went through the posted stop sign at Putnam Street and Dubuque streets.
Officer Pittman immediately activated his emergency lights, but the Subaru continued east on Putnam Street before failing to stop for the posted stop sign at Putnam and Main streets. The Subaru continued south on Main Street with Officer Pittman in pursuit, but the officerย lost sight of the vehicle as he continued through the Granite Square.
Multiple police units arrived on scene and set up a perimeter in the area. Officer Pittman observed the Subaruย parked on Winter Street. Officer Mark Aquino of the Traffic Unit observed a male, later identified as Lang, fleeing on foot on Wheelock Street. Officer Aquino made eye contact with Langย and ordered him to stop. Lang allegedly failed to stop and continued fleeing on foot toward West Hancock Street. Officer Ryan Brandreth and his police dogย partner Colt joined the search andย eventually flushed Langย out of hiding near 194 Goffe Street.
Officer Brandreth and Officer Jered Maguire located Lang in the rear of 194 Goffe St., and placed him into custody.ย Lang was transported to police headquarters and charged with operating under the influence of liquor (secondย offense), disobeying a police officer and resisting arrest or detention.
Lang was scheduled toย appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester at 8:15 a.m. on May 18.
