
MANCHESTER, NH โ A city man found sleeping in his car behind the Superior Court building was arrested June 11, charged with possession of a controlled drug, heroin.
At about 12:25 a.m. Thursday, Manchester Bicycle Officerโs Clifford Ellston and Michael Caron were in the area of Veteranโs Park when they noted aย vehicle parked behind Hillsborough County Superior Court North, 300 Chestnut Street.
The officerโs peddled up to the 1995 BMW and sawย a manย sleeping in the front passengerโs seat, later identified as Alex Clancy, 25, of Manchester. They also observed a backpack and utility knife next to him while checkingย his condition.
Clancy exited the vehicle and consented to a search. Officer Ellston located inside Clancy’s front pants pocket a capped hypodermic needle and a small plastic bag (.1 grams) of heroin. Based on the items found, the officers were given consent to check the contents of Clancyโs backpack.
Officers located another hypodermic needle, .8 grams of heroin (estimated street value $80) and other drug paraphernalia commonly used for injecting heroin. Clancy was placed into custody and transported to police headquarters. He was booked without incident and charged with: possession of a controlled drug, as well asย violation of bail conditions for a case involving an unarmed robbery.
He was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 11, 2015.
