MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police responded to the 100 block of Taylor Street around 2:00 a.m. this morning after receiving a 911 call involving a gunshot wound. Officers arrived on scene and observed a man rendering aid to another subject who was seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, which was parked in a residential driveway.
Officer Erik Slocum provided medical treatment to the victim, a 33-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound, as Manchester Fire Department and AMR ambulance workers arrived on scene. Additional officers also spoke with the another man at the scene, age 34, who rendered aid to his friend.
An active investigation is ongoing, but it appears this may have been the result of an accidental discharge.
The victim was transported to the Elliot Hospital where he received treatment for his serious, but non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.
