Man turns himself in, charged with attempted murder in Central Street shooting

MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ย A city man faces second-degree murder charges following a shooting Thursday at a Central Street residence.

According to Manchester Police, on January 2, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the area ofย  Central and Maple Streets for a reported shooting.ย ย

Arriving officers located a group of people yelling for help outside of 341 Central St. Inside theย  building officers located a 55-year-old woman suffering from a serious gunshot wound to the arm. The woman was hemorrhaging severely and immediately transported to an area hospital forย  treatment of the life-threatening injury. Police learned that the suspect was known to the victimย and had also shot at another person prior to leaving the area.ย 

Shortly after, Francisco Garcia, 33, of Manchester showed up at the Manchester Policeย  Department and turned himself into police. Garcia was charged with attempted – second-degreeย murder, first-degree assault and reckless conduct.

Garcia was also determined to have anย  active bench warrant and a warrant from another agency. Garcia is scheduled for arraignmentย  today, 1/3/25 in Manchester District Court.
