MANCHESTER, NH — The Manchester Development Corporation (MDC) is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of the property located at 30 Amherst Street, a key parcel in downtown Manchester that represents a strategic addition to MDC’s growing portfolio.
Positioned adjacent to both the City-owned Victory Parking Garage and MDC’s existing cultural asset, the Rex Theatre (Existing MDC Asset), the 30 Amherst Street property offers prime potential for future redevelopment, improved connectivity, and continued investment in the vibrancy of Manchester’s downtown.
“This acquisition reflects MDC’s commitment to thoughtful, long-term investment in the City’s urban core,” said Amy Chhom, Chair of the Manchester Development Corporation. “30 Amherst Street is ideally located to support future projects that enhance pedestrian access, complement cultural amenities, and promote economic growth. I want to thank the seller, Kyle York, for working with us and sharing in our mission to continue redevelopment in downtown Manchester. I also want to thank the team at Colliers for not only help in brokering the sale but agreeing to stay on as property managers for the site.”
The purchase aligns with MDC’s mission to stimulate economic development in Manchester by acquiring and managing properties that offer long-term value and transformative potential. The property’s proximity to both public parking and an active performing arts venue provides unique redevelopment opportunities to support retail, hospitality, mixed-use, or other community-focused initiatives.
“Downtown Manchester is experiencing renewed energy, and this acquisition positions us to take a proactive role in shaping the future of the area,” said Mayor Jay Ruais. “We’re excited about the possibilities this opens up—not just for MDC, but for the City and its residents.”
Planning for the site’s future use is in the early stages. MDC has engaged with all of the current tenants in the building with the hope that they will remain. In the coming months, MDC will evaluate a range of development scenarios that align with the City’s economic development goals and downtown revitalization strategies.
