
MANCHESTER, NH โ Labor Day was only two weeks ago, yet there has already been plenty of high school sports action in and around the Queen City. Here’s a glance at some of the recent and upcoming action:
Football
The Manchester West High School football team continued its hot start to the 2025 season, improving to 2-0 with a 37-0 victory over Hollis-Brookline on Friday, Sept. 12.
Quarterback Manny Mendoza led the Blue Knights with 182 passing yards on a 13-for-21 effort, tossing three touchdowns. Myles Whiter let the receiving corps with three catches for 52 yards, finding pay dirt once.
Running back Liam King pitched in with six rushes for 57 yards, a 28-yard catch and a touchdown, while backfield mate Rayvon Nelson had three rushes for 20 yards, including a touchdown, and three catches for 34 yards.
Also contributing in West’s winning effort were Elias Abreu, who provided 44 yards on six touches; Jarome Hernet, who rushed twice for 15 yards, including a touchdown, and also garnered one of Mendoza’s touchdown passes, finishing with three catches for 51 yards. Kingston Green rushed five times for 34 yards.
On dรฉfende, Hernet capped his all-around effort with seven tackles, two for a loss, and recovered one fumble, while Camden Rapaglia Armstrong provided three tackles and one interception.
The Blue Knights next host ConVal this Friday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. before welcoming Souhegan to town for significant litmus test on Sept. 26.
