
MANCHESTER, NH โย As Southern New Hampshire hits peak foliage season, teams and athletes from Manchester look to elevate their performances on their respective playing surfaces heading into the home stretch of the season.
Football

Division I
The Manchester Central High School football team, which stumbled to an 0-2 start to the current campaign, has won it’s last two games, including a 49-35 home triumph over Portsmouth-Oyster Rover on Sept. 26. Next up for the Little Green is an Friday road game at 0-4 Alvirne. Kickoff in Hudson is 7 p.m.
Across town, Manchester Memorial improved to 4-0 with a 40-12 road victory over Timberlane. The Crusaders look to keep their undefeated season rolling when they host 1-3 Spaulding at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Division II
The Manchester West High School football team suffered its first loss of the season, 33-0, to championship favorite Souhegan.
Gio Doria passed for 123 yards, with two interceptions,, while rushing five times for 11 yards.
Liam King had 107 total yards, including 6 catches for 98 yards and nine yards on the ground, and Kingston Green provided 35 yards on 8 rush attempts and one catch for 7 yards.
On defense, Taylor Hale provided seven tackles, while Joel Camilo had five tackles and a fumble recovery and Michael Spooner, Jarome Henry and Kingston Green each had six tackles.
Next up for West is a Friday night clash at 2-2 Milford at 7 p.m.
Trinity High School improved to 3-1, bouncing back from a 46-14 Sept. 20 loss to Plymouth to earn a 45-6 victory over Pembroke on Sept. 26. The Pioneers will look to increase their win total when they travel to 0-4 Merrimack Valley for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff Friday.
