MANCHESTER, N.H. – At the beginning of Tuesday’s Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais honored Manchester resident and New Hampshire Council on Developmental Disabilities Director of Policy and Planning Vanessa Blais, reading a proclamation in honor of Direct Support Professionals’ Appreciation Week, which takes place from Sept. 7 to 13.
Established in 2008, the week is intended to honor the work of personal care professionals who provide aid to disabled Americans, such as Blais.
