Manchester Police arrest city man in connection with ‘swastika’ vandalism at HopKnot

MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ย Police say they have arrested a man suspected of painting a swastika on a local restaurant.

Jason Brunelle, 46, of Manchester turned himself in at police headquarters on Aug. 26 on a warrant charging him in connection with an incident of vandalism at the Elm Street bar-restaurant.

In the early morning hours of August 7, 2025, a swastika was found drawn on the front door of  the establishment.  

Through the investigation Brunelle was identified as a suspect and a warrant was issued for hisย  arrest. He is charged withย criminal mischief and criminal threatening-conduct.ย 

The Hopknot is a well known in the community as welcoming black-owned, queer-inclusive space.ย 

Police worked with the Attorney Generalโ€™s Civil Rights Unit regarding this investigation.
