MANCHESTER, NH – Some sports, like golf, have wrapped up team competition this fall season, while others, like football, soccer, volleyball and field hockey are still going strong as teams vie to reach the playoffs. Here’s how high school teams in the Queen City have performed over the last week:
Football
Division I
Manchester Memorial High School suffered its first loss of the season Friday, falling 30-27 at 5-1 Winnacunnet in Hampton. The Crusaders are scheduled for another tough road test this Friday when they trek to Nashua for a 6:30 kickoff against 5-1 Nashua South at Stella’s Stadium.
The Manchester Central High School football team lost its second game in a row, 46-21 to Londonderry Friday, to fall to 2-4 on the season. The Little Green look to rebound this Friday night at 6:30 when they host 4-2 Windham.
Division II
The Manchester West High School football team lost its second game of the season Friday, falling to always-tough Pelham, 35-0.
Quarterback Gio Doria was f-for-14 passing for 38 yards and one interception; Jarome Hernet had 23 total yards on three touches, including a 15-yard catch; Kingston Green rushed 10 times for 40 yards, and Noah Sheedy had one catch for 11 yards.
The Blue Knights (4-2) look to get back on-track when they host 4-2 Kingswood Friday at 7 p.m.
Trinity High School improved to 4-1 by defeating St. Thomas Aquinas (4-2), 39-13. The Pioneers are scheduled to host undefeated Pelham Friday at 7 p.m. and then travel to winless Merrimack Valley for a makeup game Tuesday at 6 p.m.
