WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, New Hampshire’s congressional delegation announced $4,556,533 in federal funding for renovation projects and equipment projects at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT)
The federal funding was awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP), with $2,107,706 going toward two taxiway rehabilitation projects and $2,448,827 allocated to help purchase critical equipment for snow removal, as well as airport safety and security.
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, helped craft the omnibus funding legislation for FY’ 18, which appropriated an extra $1 billion for AIP projects.
“Ensuring our regional transportation centers have the funding and backing they need is critical to growing our state’s economy, and I’ll keep fighting to secure additional resources for New Hampshire’s infrastructure,” said Shaheen.
Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is the busiest airport in New Hampshire, serving 1.8 million passengers in 2018.
