
MANCHESTER, N.H. โ The Manchester Monarchs picked up two crucial points on Saturday night, solidifying their current playoff position with a 4-1 win over the Worcester Railers.
Only Drew Callinโs rebound found its way past Manchester netminder Charles Williams, with Williams stopping the Railersโ 22 other shots in the game.
That goal came in the second period, quickly after the Manchesterโs Daniil Miromanov scored his 11th goal of the year. However, Worcester managed just six shots in the third period, with Manchester countering with late goals from Miromanov and Pierre Luc-Mercier.
Nic Pierog also added a goal for Manchester, putting him at 32 on the second, just two behind league leaders J.C. Campagna (Fort Wayne), Adam Pleskach (Tulsa), and Zach Pochiro (Allen)
Bokondji Imama also added two assists.
Following Saturdayโs results, Manchester (34-27-2-2) now has a two-point edge in the race for the final ECHL North Division playoff spot, just one point behind Maine for third place.
Maine and Manchester will face off in Portland on Sunday afternoon.
