NORFOLK, Va. – Another game, another win with five goals.
The Manchester Monarchs made it 2-for-2 against the Norfolk Admirals on Friday night, putting up a 5-2 victory, following their 5-1 victory against Norfolk on Wednesday.
Manchester forced the issue early, outshooting Norfolk 17-11 in the first frame and grabbing the game’s first two goals, a top-shelver from Zeb Knutson 1:11 into the game and a wrister from Craig Wyszomirski at 10:31.
Norfolk’s Connor Hurley put Norfolk on the board before the first intermission, but the hosts found themselves on the back foot for most of the evening, outshot again in the second period and outshot overall, 41-29.
Pavel Jenys and Joe Sullivan added goals for the Monarchs in the second period. Cory Ward put the Monarchs lead back to three in the third period, answering a glove-side blast from Norfolk’s Patrick D’Amico 5:12 into the final frame.
Manchester’s final game in this week’s trip to Virginia takes place on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
After that, they return to the ice on Dec. 12 and 14 for a two-game set in Worcester against the Railers.
