How Dry I Am

The last week of August will kick off with scattered showers and thunderstorms, but they won’t be enough to ease the ongoing drought. In fact, the drought conditions are expected to persist through the Labor Day weekend.

Temperatures will reach the lower 60s, except for the mid-50s at elevations above 5000 feet. Southwest winds will blow at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph. There’s an 80 percent chance of rain. Elevations between 2,500 and 4,000 feet: Summits will remain obscured with showers and a possibility of thunderstorms. Temperatures will reach the mid-60s, with southwest winds at up to 10 mph and gusts reaching 30 mph. Rain is likely, with a 90 percent chance.
Hit the Beach Hampton & Rye Beach Weather: The weather is mostly cloudy with patchy fog, a chance of passing showers, and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Thunderstorm potential is low. High temperatures will reach the lower 70s with southeast winds around 5 mph. The ocean temperature is 65 degrees, the surf height is around 3 feet, and the rip current risk is low.
