Nashua man who fled to Maine arrested, charged with 1st-degree assault of 4 year old

NASHUA, NH โ€“ A Nashua man wanted for the Jan. 19 alleged assault of a 4-year-old boy was arrested on Jan. 26 in Maine.

According to a police narrative, on January 19, 2023, Nashua officers responded to a residence to assist with a medical emergency.ย  The medical emergency involved a 4-year-old boy who sustained apparent serious head and facial injuries.ย ย

Detectives were assigned to further the investigation.ย  In the course of the investigation, Jose Gurley, 25, was identified as the suspect of a first-degree assault โ€“ class A felony.ย  A warrant was applied for and granted charging Gurley with first-degree assault.

Detectives learned that Gurley had fled to the state of Maine. Nashua Detectives coordinated with Maine State Police and located a vehicle Gurley had been associated with at a residence in Cornish, Maine.ย  Maine State Police applied for a search warrant of the residence and located Gurley.ย 

Gurley was arrested without incident on January 26, 2024, by the Maine State Police.ย  Gurley is currently being held at the York County Jail in Maine, awaiting extradition back to New Hampshire.
