MANCHESTER, NH – New Hampshire’s nonprofit sector employs nearly one-in-seven Granite Staters and delivers essential services in every community across the state. A new statewide campaign, “Nonprofits Get It Done For NH,” aims to spotlight that impact and amplify the voices of the 9,900 nonprofits serving residents every day.

Launched this week by the NH Center for Nonprofits, the campaign highlights nonprofits’ role in strengthening communities, supporting families, driving economic activity and partnering with government to provide critical services. Nonprofits account for 14% of the state’s workforce, well above the national average of 10%.

“Nonprofits are essential to the strength and well-being of communities across the state,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the NH Center for Nonprofits. “Through the ‘Nonprofits Get It Done For NH’ campaign, we’re raising our collective voice to highlight that impact and inspire people to champion the sector from the State House to the state’s communities.”

The campaign kicked off February 25 at the SEE Science Center in Manchester, where nonprofit ambassadors discussed the critical importance of nonprofits, sharing compelling stories about how their organizations serve families, children and communities across the state.

“The demand for housing and shelter remains high across NH. Every night, Families in Transition provides housing to 240 households and shelter to 184 people,” said Maria Devlin, president and CEO of Families in Transition. We are seeing more people experiencing homelessness for the first time, and each time a family moves into stable housing, another is waiting for that same life-changing opportunity. Our work is essential, and we cannot do it alone.”

Additional speakers included Kathleen Reardon, Brenda Guggisberg, executive director, The Upper Room – A Family Resource Center, Shana Hawrylchak, executive director, SEE Science Center and Betsy Burtis, COO, Amoskeag Health.

“Stories are powerful. This campaign unites nonprofits of all sizes together to spotlight their impact and ensure lawmakers hear from the people who rely on these vital services,” Reardon said. “100% of Granite Staters are impacted by nonprofits. From early childhood support to housing and food stability, nonprofits get it done.”
