Enjoy Art Enrichment Camps all Summer at Studio 550
MANCHESTER, NH- By popular demand, Studio 550 just added three more tween/teen Clay Camps to the summer line up. Open to kids 10 years old and up, these freshly added camps are focused on clay hand sculpting. This means that campers will be working primarily with clay, but without the spinning pottery wheel.
Without the wheel, the project possibilities are limitless! Campers can still create functional pottery, like cups, bowls, and vases, but also boxes for treasures, whimsical creatures, garden sculptures, and more. The weeks of June 22nd, July 27th and August 17th are the new tween/teen Clay Sculpting Camps.
The other tween/teen pottery wheel throwing camps that were already on the schedule are mostly full, but anyone interested can join a call list in case of a cancellation. Each afternoon enrichment camp is $215 for the 5 days, all materials, instruction and firing included. Students must pick up their finished ceramic work approximately 5 weeks following the camp.
Art Explorer Camps
Campers ages 6-11 are welcome to join any Art Explorer Camp where Campers delve into mixed media 2-D and 3-D creation They’ll be drawing, painting, crafting, sculpting with plaster and cardboard. There are 6 camp sessions, all with a different fun theme, like “Epic Underwater Adventures!” and “Travel the world with Art”.
Several of the Art Explorer Camps run concurrently with Teen Wheel Camps, so younger siblings and older siblings can be dropped off at the same location, but have their own unique experience catered to their age group.
Art for All Scholarship: Half Priced Camps
The Studio 550 Art for All Scholarship has funds for 4 recipients to receive half priced camp registration. This fund is fueled by sales of abandoned workshop pottery during our Spring Cleaning Pottery sale and also donations from generous members of the community. The application form is simple and can be found on the Studio website under “Youth Classes & Camps”.
