Granite State residents will take part in a nationwide day of nonviolent action on May 1st.
CONCORD, NH โ On Friday, May 1, NH 50501 will hold a rally at City Plaza in front of the New Hampshire State House from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., joining communities across the country for a powerful day of marches, rallies, and collective action. The message is direct: tax the rich, protect democracy, and put families, not fortunes, first.
What started in 2025 as a single day of resistance has grown into a sustained national movement. From small towns to cities, people are showing up to defend democracy against attacks on their families, their freedoms, and their futures. May 1st is the next chapter.
Three core demands unite participants nationwide: tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes, come first; no ICE, no war, no private army serving unchecked federal power; and expand democracy, not corporate power – hands off our vote.
Across the country, the day will include marches, rallies, and actions, with many communities participating in No Work, No School, No Shopping as an expression of collective economic power.
When families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the edge, staying silent is not an option. This is not about watching history happen. This is about making it.
COMMITMENT TO NONVIOLENT ACTION
A core principle behind all NH 50501 events is a commitment to nonviolent action. Participants are expected to work to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree, and to act lawfully. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
