NH Job Corps is open for business, recruiting youth ages 16-24 for free career training, housing

MANCHESTER, NH – New Hampshire Job Corps has launched a recruitment drive in Manchester offering openings and free career training in the nation’s leading industries for 16-through 24-year-olds coming from low-income households.

Job Corps provides hands-on career skills training, on-campus housing, meals, health care and job search assistance. New Hampshire offers skilled trades training in Advance Manufacturing, Electrical Wiring, Electronic Engineer Technician, Facilities Maintenance, Culinary Arts, Hotel and Lodging, Security-Protective Services, Medical Administration Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant. 

Applicants may qualify if they receive benefits such as SNAP, TANF or free or reduced school lunch, or if they are experiencing homelessness or are a foster youth. Job Corps offers expedited enrollment for age-eligible young adults experiencing homelessness.

Despite an order issued in June by the Trump Administration to shut down Job Corps, a federal judge granted a preliminary injunction that Job Corps programs across the country stay open until a lawsuit is resolved.

The ruling keeps the 123 Job Corps Centers across the U.S. open for now. They were due to close and evict students June 30. That includes New Hampshire’s center, on Dunbarton Road.
