No arrests in West Side incident that forced school closures

MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police responded to the area of 90 Conant Street approximately 9 a.m. April 21 for a shots fired call. Units surrounded the three-family apartment house as one of the alleged shooters was seen entering the home.

Investigators determined that a man who may have been involved in a shooting resided in the second floor apartment, so they made contact with the Manchester School District and surrounding apartment houses, advising them to “shelter in place.” West High School is located within one block of the scene, so the school district secured the campus until the scene was cleared at 11 a.m. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

Members of the Manchester Police Patrol Division and SWAT team arrived on scene with the Bear Cat and began using a PA system to lure those inside the building to come outside. Two women and two men eventually exited and were temporarily placed in handcuffs to ensure the safety of the officers on scene.

No arrests have been made and detectives are trying to corroborate the story of two possible shootings during this one incident. This is an active and ongoing investigation, so no additional details are available at this time, including the names of those removed from the apartment house.
