
HOOKSETT, NH โ State Police have yet to identify the driver who perished in a crash near the Hooksett Tolls Friday.
On April 6, 2018 at approximatelyย 2:50 p.m., the NH State Police received ย a report of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate ย 93 South, just south of the Hooksett Tolls.ย Troopers from the Troops B, D and G responded to the scene along with the Hooksett Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. ย Once on scene, Troopers confirmed that a passenger vehicle and a disabled tractor-trailer were involved in the crash.
Troopers observed a 2003 Peterbilt Tractor Trailer bearing Missouri Registration 36AP4N in the breakdown lane.ย The Peterbilt was owned and operated byย Abbas Al-Ramahi,ย 55, Independence, Missouri.
A white Chevy Tahoe, no license plates attached, had crashed into the rear of the tractor-trailer unit.ย Investigators are still trying to identify the driver of the Chevy.
A preliminary investigation revealed the Chevy was traveling south on Interstate 93, and crashed into the rear of the disabled tractor-trailer. The driver of the Tahoe was declared dead at the scene. Al-Ramahi not injured.
Two lanes of Interstate 93 South were ย shutdown for approximately 3-ยฝ hours while crews attempted to separate the vehicles, and remove the driver from the Chevy Tahoe. ย The New Hampshire Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control and direction.
