Nov. 7: Amoskeag Bridge westbound bridge detour to be in place overnight

MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester’s Department of Public Works (DPW) announced Nov. 3 that rehabilitation work on the Amoskeag Bridge Eastbound will require a SECOND closure of the Amoskeag Bridge Westbound during the night/morning hours (11 p.m.-7 a.m.) of November 7, 2026  thru November 8, 2025.

Detours and electronic message bords will be in place. The posted detour will send traffic to  Bridge Street, Elm Street, and Eddy Road. This closure is required for the CONTINUED placement of  the mid-span bridge deck sections on the Eastbound bridge and is weather-dependent.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. And stay informed through the  City of Manchester and DPW’s website, Facebook, and Nixle alerts.

The $18.9 million project is contracted to New England Infrastructure of Hudson, MA, with funding  from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration  (80%), and the City of Manchester (20%). Completion is scheduled for November 2026.
