MANCHESTER, NH โย If you have an hour or two Saturday during which you might want to make a big difference with minimum effort, you can head over to Manchester Community College to help sort massive amounts of clothing into “bundles” that will be distributed as needed to kids as they enter the New Hampshire foster care system.
The Pass Along Project fall sorting event will run Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Register here for a time-slot that best fits for your schedule OR gather a group of friends or co-workers to make it a sorting party!
Clothing “Bundle” Program
The Clothing Bundle Program is the flagship program of the Pass Along Project, which provides a complete clothing kit to children newly arrived in foster care anywhere in the State of NH.
The sorting event helps to pre-build clothing kits in every size so that bags are ready at a moment’s notice. Each kit contains a full week’s worth of basic everyday clothing, similar to what most families purchase at the beginning of a school year. While the majority of the bundle is built with excellent quality pre-worn clothing, Pass Along Projects adds new underwear, socks, pajamas and at least two news outfits to every kid, which also contain sneakers, and seasonal items such as boots, jackets, snowpants, and more.
Clothing kits are provided to the child free of charge.
Sponsor a Clothing Kit
This program relies on donors. While most of the clothing in the kit is gently-used, each kit costs our organization around $150 to produce. This covers the costs involved with collecting massive amounts of used clothing, sorting the clothing donations by size, supplying the new items for each package and materials needed to package the kits. Your monetary donation in any amount helps us to be able to continue to serve more and more children each year.
Manchester Community College is located at 1066 Front St. in Manchester, NH.
