One prowler caught, one still at large after Saturday theft spree of cash, gift cards, from parked cars

MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ One man is in custody and another is being sought in a theft-spree on April 25, after a caller reported two men in an area near Memorial High School,ย dressed in black and “checking car doors.”

Officer Ken Brunini and Chris Cunningham responded to the area at about 2 a.m. and ultimately chased two men in a wooded area behind aย Stanton Street home. The two menย fled into the woods, but were located a short time later by Officer Golia as they exited the woods and ran towards Hoyt Street. The two refused to stop for Officer Golia and a brief foot pursuit ensued.

One of the prowlersย managed to escape apprehension, but police caught up with and arrestedย Antonio Beltrane, 19, of Goffstown. Beltraneย was charged with resisting arrest/detention and was issued a summons for loitering/prowling.

Police said he was in possession of loose change totalingย more thanย $50ย and an assortment of gift cards. He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on May 29. He was released on $500 personal recognizance.

The second subject is at large and police continue to investigate the incident.
