MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ย Following an underground cable fault on Elm Street, Manchester Fire Chief Ryan Cashin announced that a planned power shut down would be scheduled for 1 a.m. Wednesday by Eversource to complete repairs to its electrical infrastructure.

The situation was precipitated by a fire in a manhole located in the alley between the Pearson building and City Hall Annex. Water in the manhole must be pumped out before Eversource can make the repair.

The work could take up to four hours and should be complete by the morning. Power to customers around the downtown near City Hall and across Elm Street will disrupted.
