Parenting NH Magazine earns 6 national awards for editorial, design

MANCHESTER, NHย  โ€“ Parenting New Hampshire magazine earned six awards during the April 16 Parenting Media Association annual meeting, held in Indianapolis, IN.

Screen Shot 2016-04-25 at 3.18.01 PMThe magazine, edited by Melanie Hitchcock, won six awards, including: four gold awards for Editorโ€™s Note/Publisherโ€™s Note; Profile Story (Pamme Boutselis); Service Feature (Mary Ellen Hettinger); and Humor Column (Bill Burke); a silver award for Interior Photography (Kendal J. Bush); and a bronze award for Special Section Design (Nancy Tichanuk).

The Parenting Media Association (PMA),ย a non-profit representing the family media market since 1988, received 645 entries for 2015 magazine issues and digital products. Prof. Reuben Stern of the University of Missouriโ€™s School of Journalism coordinated the annual contest.

โ€œOur awards recognize the best work done in our industry,โ€ said PMA President Mary Cox. โ€œOur member publications engage with families throughout the United States, Canada and Australia, be it through print, websites, email, social media or events. Our collective goal is making parenting easier โ€“ after all, itโ€™s the most important job in the world โ€“ and even more of a fun ride.โ€

PMA is a nonprofit national organization representing more than 100 parenting magazines and newspapers in the United States, Canada and Australia.
