Paul J. Costa, 63, of Manchester, NH, died August 16, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a period of declining health.Born in Boston, Mass., on March 4, 1951, he was the son of Joseph and Nina (Cardinale) Costa. He resided in Jaffrey for twenty-one years before moving to Manchester in 2006.
Paul graduated from Medford High School, Medford, MA.
During the Vietnam War, he served with the United States Navy. In his early years, he worked as a truck driver for various companies.
Devoted to his faith, he was a communicant of Saint Pius X Church. He was also a member of the Legion of One Thousand Men Monastery of the Precious Blood.
Paul will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Family members include his wife of 25 years, Bonnie (Letourneau) Costa; two daughters, Gina M. Costa of Manchester and Melissa J. Binette of Pelham; a son, Shawn M. Doherty of Manchester; three grandchildren, Nathan, Kelly, and Ava; two brothers, Joseph Costa of Everett, Mass., and John Costa of North Tewksbury, Mass.; two sisters, Sandra Klimczak of Sturbridge, Mass., and Marissa DeRosa of Amesbury, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
Services: Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, corner of Concord Street, Manchester, NH.
The funeral will be held Friday with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Pius X Church, Candia Road, Manchester.
Burial will take place in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
