PORTLAND, Maine โ€“ Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia took three at-bats at Hadlock Field on Wednesday night as part of the Portland Sea Dogs 3-1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Pedroia came home on a Joey Curletta sixth-inning double, negating Santiago Espinalโ€™s RBI single for New Hampshire in the fourth.

It took Bobby Dalbecโ€™s two-run homer in the eighth to break the deadlock for Portland, with the Fisher Catsโ€™ anemic hitting provided no response in New Hampshireโ€™s final set of outs.

Espinal was the only Fisher Cat with more than one hit, finishing 2-for-4 with a walk. Dalbec finished 3-for-4 on the night.

Perhaps overshadowed by Pedroia or Dalbecโ€™s performance, Denyi Reyes kept New Hampshireโ€™s bats in check, allowing just five hits in seven innings, striking out five in the process.

Reyes left with a no decision as Durbin Feltman pitched the eighth to get the win. Adam Lau notched his second save of the year after completing the ninth.

Andrew Sopko also pitched a strong game, giving up just three hits in a five-inning performance.

The two teams complete the series at 11 a.m. on Thursday as New Hampshireโ€™s Patrick Murphy (0-4, 4.55 ERA) takes on Tanner Houck (3-1, 4.62 ERA)
