Here’s a recap of what’s been going on recently in the world of Southern New Hampshire University sports.
Women’s Soccer
Two second half goals doomed the 24th ranked Penmen as they fell 2-0 to Bentley on Tuesday.
The Penmen managed just three shots on goal, sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Rose (Waterloo, Ontario) stopped four shots.
This snapped SNHU’s four-game winning streak.
The Penmen (9-4-0, 6-4-0 Northeast-10) return to action on Saturday, Oct. 26 (2 p.m.) against 11th ranked College of Saint Rose.
Women’s Volleyball
The Penmen needed just three sets on Tuesday for their win against Saint Michael’s College, finishing with double-digit leads in each set.
Sophomore Ramona Fontaine (Chelsea, Mass.) registered a career-high 10 kills and two of the Penmen’s five blocks. Senior Baylee Lippincott (Phoenix, Ariz.) also had two blocks and ended with nine kills.
SNHU has now won five of its last six contests, including three straight.
The Penmen (11-8, 3-2 Northeast-10) are back in action Saturday, Oct. 26 (1 p.m.) when they take on the University of New Haven.
Men’s Golf
Freshman Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) was named as Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week on Wednesday.
Msciz shot a 3-under 141 over two rounds at the Le Moyne Fall Invitational last week, just one shot off the lead.
This marks the fourth time this year he’s won the honor.
