Police arrest man for allegedly waving a loaded gun in McDonald’s parking lot

MANCHESTER, NH — A man was arrested Sunday, charged with reckless conduct after he allegedly waved a loaded gun toward customers in the drive-thru at McDonald’s from his parked car.

Manchester Police responded to the parking lot of McDonald’s, 196 South Willow St., on March 17 at approximately 1:30 a.m. for a report of a man waving a gun while seated in his vehicle. Officer Felipe Fagundes spoke with two witnesses who claimed a man operating a Honda Accord was waving a black handgun out of the driver’s side window as they waited in the drive-thru line. The driver allegedly pointed the handgun toward other vehicles in line.

Officer Fagundes relayed the information to nearby officers who stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle on Queen City Avenue, west of South Willow Street. Officer Erik Slocum stopped the 2010 Honda moments after the initial call for service and spoke with the driver and his passenger while investigating the alleged incident.

The driver, Justin Godin, 28, of Manchester, was  arrested and charged with reckless conduct and felonious use of a firearm. Officers seized a loaded 9mm handgun inside of Godin’s vehicle. His passenger was not charged in the incident and she was released from the scene.

Godin was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on April 4, 2019.
